Luke's Talk

Luke came to talk to us about what makes a good pitch for a music video and showed us an example format of a real pitch to a band for a music video idea. The format is fairly simple and never says how they are going to film the video, what they are going to point the camera at on the day, as they ,ay decide to change the way that it is shot on the day of the actual shoot, so it is just easier to tell the band what you are filming instead of how your filming it.

We also were shown a website that is for band to look for people to make a video for them and saw the differences in budget for £100 to £20,000, this is due to the fact that there is indie bands that don’t have a massively high budget therefore they are likely to give a low budget, there is also big well known bands that will have a lot of money to be able to spent on making a massively advanced music video so they are more likely to give nearer to the £20,000 budget.

This is an example of a music video treatment. A music video treatment states what the idea for the music video is, what style it will have, what the song is and what the story is, it is basically a baseline for a music video which can adapt but stick to what the treatment says.
