The symbolic genre conventions for my website are made to reflect the genre of the band. The Last Shadow Puppets make a lot of songs about love so I made sure to use the screen grab of one of their music videos which starts with the two lead singers around a flurry of rose petals to show the romance aspect of the bands music. In the news section, I used photos of the band with on their own or performing live and them on their own, this addresses the paradox of the star theory as within the same part of the website it shows them as both ordinary and extraordinary, it also addresses the other paradox as well is the picture of them performing live shows that they are present however, the title of the post saying that they won’t be performing any festivals in 2017 shows them as absent as well, this shows that they have a personal swell as a professional life. The band is not presented as a construction, this is due to them in the photos being normal people, the band was also formed after Alex Turner split from the Arctic Monkey to join The Last Shadow Puppets and he is the same in this band as he was in the Arctic Monkeys and his image hasn’t changed, this shows that the record label isn’t making him change his image to appeal to a different audience. All these aspects would attract a target audience due to the interface being minimalist and unthreatening, the front page once the website is opened is one of the music videos with soft colours and makes it look inviting, the rest of the page is minimalist and follows the colour scheme of the album artwork, it also reflects the genre of the band.
